Mind and Destiny

"It is our duty, all of us, everyone who cares to reverse the national decline of our knowledge and understanding of history, and to renew a true appreciation of this great country, why it became great and what will keep it so." -- Sen. Robert Byrd

Savvy Politicians

We claim to want politicians that are truthful, but savvy politicians, that want to be reelected, are fully aware that most Americans can’t handle the truth.

Presidential candidate Mike Gravel said: “Our soldiers died in Vietnam in vain.... There’s only one thing worse than a soldier dying in vain. It is more soldiers dying in vain....Vietnam would have turned out the same, whether our troops had been there or not, and insists, so will Iraq.”

All our troops are doing in Iraq is killing, destroying and dying. It’s infuriating, when one considers the lives wasted in Vietnam and Iraq. Antiwar demonstrations are a patriotic way to criticize the way this commander-in-chief is squandering the precious lives of our youth in the global war for oil.

There were no weapons of mass destruction and Saddam Hussein had no ties to al-Qaeda. The invasion of Iraq was an avarice, calculated, imperialistic plan to gain control of the world’s second largest oil reserve. Instead of making Americans safer, we are creating more terrorist every day. Everything had been going according to plan, but enlistments are down. The Pentagon recently realized that it has underestimated the significance of what they sarcastically refers to as the “mommy factor.”

Corporate racketeers are using our troops to steal oil from the Iraqi people, under the pretense of bringing them democracy. Bush has commandeered our military to be gangsters for capitalism, and they’re being used as economic cannon fodder by the military industrial complex to ensure outrageous profits for multinational oil corporations.

It’s difficult, to appreciate the service of our troops in Iraq, while they’re serving the interests of corporate racketeers and their occupation is making Americans less safe. Those troops reenlisting for $20,000 to $40,000 bonuses, serve as mercenaries and remain willing pawns of corporate racketeers.
