Conservatives are concerned that their favorite TV and radio talk shows will be pushed off the air if liberals win back the House.
That won’t happen, because liberals value the right of freedom of speech for both flag burners and conservative talk show hosts. Besides Rush Limbaugh helped win the state of Missouri for the Democratic party by mocking Michael J. Fox
The Christian right fears that, “intelligent design” would be considered religion instead of science and warns that it would be banned in public schools.
“Intelligent design” is not science, it’s repackaged creationism and religious beliefs, are best taught in the home, church, mosque, or synagogue.
Righteous Christians fear that liberal judges will be appointed, who will interpret laws only in their party’s favor because they couldn’t get them passed through the legislative process.
Liberal judges can not be appointed until Democrats take back the White House. The Bush regime has already stacked the Supreme Court with right wing conservative judges and have two more years to stack the federal judiciary. Federal judges appointed by Bush have already demonstrated they’re willing to interpret laws to favor the right-wing of the Republican party.
Conservatives predicts that flag burning will be permitted as freedom of speech.
Enlightened free speech enabled twelve year old, Charlotte Aldebron to write: “The American flag stands for the the fact that cloth can be very important. It is against the law to let the flag touch the ground or leave the flag flying when the weather is bad. The flag has to be treated with respect. You can tell just how important this cloth is because when you compare it to people, it gets much better treatment. Nobody cares if a homeless person touches the ground. A homeless person can lie all over the ground all night long without anyone picking him up, folding him neatly and sheltering him from the rain. School children have to pledge loyalty to this piece of cloth every morning. No one has to promise that people will get a fair wage, or enough food to eat, or affordable medicine, or clean water, or air free from harmful chemicals. But we all have to promise to love a rectangle of red, white, and blue cloth.”
The American flag stands for who we are. The good, the bad, and the ugliness, that has been and continues to be our heritage.
